Performance

The 31st edition of our unique entertainment revue, the Lynnhurst Home Companion took place on Saturday, February 25, 2017!

Far more than just a simple church talent show, it’s an easy-going variety extravaganza that casts a light on the amazing depth of talent in our congregation’s midst – a sure-fire way to brighten up the gray days of midwinter. The Home Companion show helps fund the Music & Arts board’s ongoing projects and pursuits, so taking part gives back to Lynnhurst in the most enjoyable way possible. This year, attendees were dazzled by the marvelous music, comedy and more!

Annual Fall Festival

Flyer FF2016Lynnhurst's annual Fall Festival was held on Saturday, October 8, 2016, from 5:00-8:00 pm. We enjoyed outdoor games for children (weather permitting); a chili & cornbread supper (including vegetarian and kid-friendly options); live music and family folk dancing (no experience necessary!); an amazing raffle; and of course, the famous silent auction, offering everything from gift cards, specialty gift baskets of wine and other treats, hand-crafted gifts, art... and more!

New this year:

- Bounce house & games for children outside

- Chili dinner in main floor lounge

- Pie-face! Bring your loose change and help fill the bucket with the face of your favorite Lynnhurst staffer. At the end of the evening, the person with the fullest bucket gets a pie in the face... Thanks for taking one for the team, Pastor Cynthia and Nicole!!!

Blessing of the Animals

One of Lynnhurst's beloved beloved (and joyous) traditions is the annual Blessing of the Animals. Typically around the October 4th birthday of St. Francis of Assisi, honoring his love for all creatures "great and small", Lynnhurst invites all to bring their dogs, cats, guinea pigs, snakes (we've even had a tarantula blessed!); favorite stuffed animal pals are welcome too!

Last year the event was held Saturday, October 1, on the front lawn of the church. There was music, treats for our furry friends, and Pastor Cynthia blessed each creature by name. The free-will donations received will benefit the Meals On Wheels Pet Program.
