Choir on Christmas Eve

This Week's Music Notes

The music for Sunday, April 22, Earth Day, is reflective of honoring and blessing our beloved Mother Earth!  The Prelude, Bless the Rain, was written in 2003 by South Korean composer and pianist Yiruma (b. 1978).

The Lynnhurst Choir, directed by Ben Dyleuth, will sing the anthem, Earth Song, written in 2006 by the American composer and conductor Frank Ticheli (b. 1958).  The Offertory is an arrangement of the hymn tune For The Beauty of the Earth, arranged by composer Phillip Keveren in the style of the legendary American composer Aaron Copland (1900-1990). And the Postlude is a selection from the Broadway Musical Godspell – All Good Gifts written in 1971.  Ben Dyleuth will sing the message -  ‘We plow the fields and scatter, the good seed on the land, but it is fed and watered by God’s Almighty Hand! All good gifts around us, are sent from Heaven above, I really want to Thank You Lord!’
