Choir on Christmas Eve

This Week's Music Notes

This Sunday, July 2, we are pleased to welcome Lynnhurst member and vocalist Paul Olson to the Summer Music Series. Among the many gifts and talents Paul shares with this congregation, perhaps one of our favorites may be his love for and gift of music! Paul is a long term member of the Lynnhurst Choir and leads the men’s chorus, Men of Note. We offer many thanks to Paul for sharing his amazing gift of music with us this morning in worship!

Paul will be singing the traditional African-American spiritual There is a Balm in Gilead arranged by Harry Burleigh. The Voluntaries are reflective of the upcoming celebration of the American Independence Observance on July 4th and the opening and middle hymns of the service.

Please plan to join Lynnhurst in worship next Sunday, July 9, when the Summer Music Series welcomes members and musicians Steve Wold and Bill Cutler! We look forward to seeing you then!

Lynnhurst Summer Music Series

The Lynnhurst Music and Arts Board is pleased to announce the Summer 2017 Music Series and invites members and friends to consider joining in the music making!  Each Sunday throughout the summer, various groups and individuals have the opportunity to plan and provide music for Worship.

Previous summer Sundays have been filled with glorious vocal and instrumental music ranging from Bluegrass and Folk to Jazz and Baroque, and more! Here’s your opportunity to put together a duet, a trio, plan a solo with a friend who plays an instrument... be creative!  Maybe you’d like to create a Sacred Dance piece, or read a poem during worship? Jay Bruns is leading the Series and is more than happy to help you find a time, suggest music if you’d like and help you plan and prepare your choices. You can reach Jay at 612.718.7141 or for more information.  So, join us and help make this a summer to remember!
